Tables as Universal Apps? – A Toy

Could tables be a universal UI and application engine? In this video, Alex introduces a small prototype of a computation idea based on tables and a few principles:

• each cell can have a value and a formula
• when clicking a button, the table iterates until the cell values stabilize – aka they stay the same for 2 iterations

With this simple model, Alex shows that you can have sequence, condition, iteration and UI elements packed in one universal app.
