Carlton is an international speaker, consultant, and thought-leader on Scrum and Agile software development, currently living in Lisbon, and is the author of “Fourteen Observations of Good Scrum Practice.”

He provides advice, consulting, mentoring, and training to teams and organizations from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies in such diverse areas as medical product development, banking, insurance, online shopping, as well as to small and large software and gaming vendors.

Carlton got his start in Agile software development with Extreme Programming (XP) over eighteen years ago. Prior to joining Applied Frameworks, Carlton was the President of Look Forward Consulting, an Agile consulting and training firm. Long before that, Carlton worked at SAIC, Exxon, and Cardinal Health.

As Chief Product Owner at Applied Frameworks, Carlton is responsible for the Applied Frameworks Online Academy, the first Scrum Alliance®-approved online training program for advanced certification.

His passion is to share his excitement, enthusiasm, and encouragement with teams and organizations as they reach higher levels of performance and engagement. His business is to help the business grow and flourish.  

Carlton has over eighteen years of industry experience working side-by-side with his clients to improve quality, increase productivity, build great teams, and apply Lean Thinking to software programs. Carlton is a Certified Scrum Trainer^®, and is fluent in both English and Spanish (still learning Portuguese).
